a company's core competencies. Understanding its core
competencies allows a company to invest in its strengths
and eliminate its weaknesses so that it can differentiate its
value proposition to its customers on one hand and set
strategies to unify the company, on the other.
One of the key tenets of crafting corporate strategy while
taking the core competencies into account is to work on
building new core competencies when existing cores are
working well. In tactical terms, this means that a company
should never get complacent with its success, should

Cost Center
Entity within a business, whether a department, or a
manufacturing plant, or even an individual; to which costs can
be allocated by corporate management. Managers of cost
centers try to keep actual costs lower than the allocated costs.
CPC (Cost per Click) Advertising
Cost per Click (CPC) is a more recent pricing model,
compared to the
Cost per Thousand Impressions (CPM)
advertising
model. In the CPC model, an advertiser typically
pays 10 cents to 2 dollars or more per click.
Whereas creating an impression in the mind of the user is the
goal of CPM ads, creating traffic to the business website is the
goal of CPC ads. A user, by clicking on the CPC ad, can be
taken to the intended section of the website (also known as a
landing page), where the business can provide information to
the user, or solicit information from the user.
