This made me realize that there was value in creating a book
which will be helpful not just to business students trying to
bag a lucrative marketing / consulting job, but also to the
practicing businessman. If you are a business executive, this
book will be a useful reference in crafting and refining
strategies for your real-life businesses. It can also be helpful
in recruiting personnel into your payroll who are business
savvy.
All financial data provided in the Solved and Practice Cases
chapters have been gleaned from Annual Reports and other
publicly available information such as the Internet, and might
be subject to some inaccuracies. Further, some of these
numbers might have been revised; since I started writing the
book almost a year ago, using the numbers available back
then. These numbers should be used to solve the business
problems portrayed in them, as opposed to delving into the
accuracy / inaccuracy of the data provided.
If you are a business student, nothing will make me happier
than learning that you have successfully applied the concepts
and strategies outlined in this book to bag that coveted job.
Please email me and let me know about your successes.
If you are a successful business practitioner / executive, and
have purchased this book as a reference, I hope you find new
insights in these pages. If any of the solved cases pertain to
your industry, please let me know how you felt about the
corresponding Socratic dialogue. Your feedback will help me
with future editions of the book.
